These are a few spotlight examples of work I have done this semester that I am very proud of! Each example discusses the 4E technology integration standards as well!

I worked very hard in creating this board game that explores what a conditional is and how they are used with playing cards. This is designed for students around a fourth-grade level, but it could absolutely be applied in a third or fifth-grade classroom. With some minor adjustments, it could also be applied in a second-grade classroom. The goal of this game is to race to the finish line, using playing cards and a set of pre-made conditionals. This is an engaging activity for the students, as it has a friendly competition aspect which captures their attention and gives them a goal. This game is also efficient, as it is already all put together which saves lots of time in preparation. This is also a great enhancement opportunity, as learning about computer programs is relatively new and so there are fewer resources for making the process fun for students, but this does that and provides them with the opportunity to learn about conditionals. Finally, this game is also effective. It has clear goals and gets the students to the understanding of them by the end of the game.

This is an online board game to help younger elementary students learn about being safe online. I made it into a digital board game to increase its accessibility and because it felt more appropriate to have a board game be available online if it was going to cover online-specific topics. This board game reviews what is safe and what is not safe to post online. Because of its content, it is an effective board game, it has a clear intention of learning. It is also efficient because everything you'd need for this game is online: the board game itself, the flashcards that go with it, the instructions, even the dice! Everything is already planned and laid out, saving time for the teacher. This board game is also enhancing. It is so important for students to earn about digital safety as they grow in a digital world. This game gives them the chance to review how to stay safe online. Finally, this is a game! It's fun, it's engaging, the students want to play it, they want to compete against their friends, they will stay engaged with this game.

This activity involves students learning about their assigned topic and then presenting their information in a video format. This is an effective activity for the student to learn information. If the students are putting the information together themselves, they are far more likely to remember it than if the teacher was just telling them the information. This activity is also efficient. Once the students understand the activity and how to use iMovie, in this case, they should be well on their way to completing this activity by themselves. This is a great enhancement activity. This gives the student, not only the opportunity to learn the information, but also the opportunity to learn more about pulling together information and making a plan to make a good video. Finally, this is an engaging activity because its very independent. Of course, the teacher will be available to help, but students will be doing this project most likely in groups and will want to keep working on it because they are creating something by themselves the desire to create is engaging for many students and will keep them interested in this project.

This is a Jeopardy game I created that reviews prefixes, suffixes, contractions, possessive apostrophes, and root words. Not only does this game cover a couple of different areas, but it is an easy to use website, that is very teacher friendly. This particular game is effective, as the questions are laid out exactly to cover the standard, so that is entirely in the control of the teacher. This game is also efficient. It is already created and ready to use, all a teacher would need to do is pull it up so the students could see it to play the game as a class. This is a great chance for enhancement, as it is a review game, meant for the students to brush up on their prefixes, suffixes, contractions, possessive apostrophes, and root words. Finally, this is an engaging game. Because there is a point aspect, there is a level of friendly competition that keeps the students invested and interested in the game.
